The Ag. National Coordinator of NASSCO, Kabir Abdullahi yesterday joined the Permanent Secretary Fed Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Dr. Nasir Gwarzo mni for a call on the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC) Dr. Nasir Isa Kwarra. Discussions focused on the coming national census.
The Permanent Secretary assured the NPC Chairman that the ministry is a ready client and resource for the census database, as it could help in decisions around household socio-economic analysis for poverty reduction, disaster management, and current data for decisions on people with special needs, including Senior Citizens, People with Disability, Orphans, and Widows. The NPC Chairman, Dr. Nasir Isa Kwarra stated that NPC would deploy cutting-edge technology for the 2023 Census. He said the census would make available Socioeconomic and demographic information necessary for National Development.
Nigeria will conduct its next national population census in May 2023.
